Rødven Stave Church lies in Rauma Municipality in Møre og Romsdal County. You will find a map showing the location of all of Fortidsminneforeningen's properties in the county here.
Rødven Stave Church was built in the 13th century. It is of the Møre type, characterised by central posts in the external walls and crossbeams.
The church has been heavily rebuilt; the original chancel and the external galleries were demolished in the 17th century, but a cogged chancel was subsequently added. The south door has remains of an unusual décor in the form of "woven" half-columns and archivolt with carved foliage scrolls.
The interior is dominated by furnishings and painted decoration from the 1600 and 1700s, though the oldest furnishing is a 13th-century crucifix.
Open every day 19 June to 15 August, 11-16.
Tickets NOK 40/35/30. For more information, please call +47 916 46 969
