Uvdal Stave Church lies in Nore and Uvdal Municipality in Buskerud County. You will find a map showing its location here. Click on the small hand icon in the upper left corner of the map to show all of Fortidsminneforeningen's properties in the region.
Uvdal Stave Church is probably from around 1200. It is of the Numedal type, with a central mast. The church has probably been built on the site of an older stave church that fell into disrepair. It was rebuilt with a crossing in 1723. The doors, the half-masks over the chancel and the rococo ornamentation are from the 18th century. Its interior features a Romanesque crucifix and a wooden font.
Open 1 June to 31 August, 09-18. Tickets NOK 60/50 (both stave church and local museum), accompanied children free. For more information, call + 47 32 89 14 16 or send an e-mail to jorwiik@online.no.
